In Thibet the followers of the right hand path, Gya-dugpas,
yellow caps; black dugpas, red caps. The yellow is the color of blood seen by transmitted light. The red is that of blood
seen by reflected light. Yellow is the color of the Sun or of the zodiacal light, the color of the blood of the atonement
of the sacrifice of the Gods who incarnated in man for his salvation from ignorance and unconsciousness. The red is the sign
of the joy felt by the evil powers, when they got hold of the secret of the Gods or creative powers. It is thus the blood
of the woman, female or evil side of nature. Red signifies the covenant of the fall, or brutalization of humanity. From the
Sun emanates its life, blood, which falling on all things in nature, makes them live and grow by immaculate conception.
Thus when blood or the life fluid is held up between
the eye and the light, one really looks through the external delusive thing, at the divine light. While red blood, blood seen
by reflected light, is the thing itself, seen as a separate object or mayavic appearance, in looking at which the light is
lost sight of. Thus those whose gaze is centered on the external or red, worship nature on the purely earthly plane, and are
the left hand Adepts, Dugpas. Those who behold the light through the external appearance worship nature on the astral, psychic,
and spiritual planes, and are the white. K.H. [Reprinted from "Instruction VI," pp. 225-233 in E.S.T. Instructions:

As the blood of a healthy person or animal circulates
to all parts of the system, carrying nourishment to each cell, and also relieving each of effete matter, so the great cosmic
currents of life, thought and feeling, should circulate freely to all that lives. Any restriction of the action of the blood
results in impairment of the health of the part so immediately affected, and the diseased condition of the part extends its
influence to the whole body. TT3 289. Hilarion.
The blood is a symbol of a force circulating in the
aura. It is sent out from and returns purified back to the heart, to be again sent out on its mission of regenerating the
multitude of lesser lives composing the body. Corresponding life currents act in the same way on all the planes of our Being
– in our astral, psychic, mental and spiritual bodies or principles. Perfect interaction between all the corresponding
forces of all the planes, would mean Mastery. TT3 02. Hilarion.
"Blood," says Levi, "is the first incarnation of the
universal fluid; it is the materialized vital light. Its birth is the most marvellous of all nature's marvels; it lives only
by perpetually transforming itself, for it is the universal Proteus. The blood issues from principles where there was none
of it before, and it becomes flesh, bones, hair, nails... tears, and perspiration. It can be allied neither to corruption
nor death; when life is gone, it begins decomposing; if you know how to reanimate it, to infuse into it life by a new magnetization
of its globules, life will return to it again. The universal substance, with its double motion, is the great arcanum of being;
blood is the great arcanum of life."
"Blood," says the Hindu Ramatsariar, "contains all
the mysterious secrets of existence, no living being can exist without. It is profaning the great work of the Creator to eat
blood." In his turn Moses, following the universal and traditional law, forbids eating blood. Isis2 567.
Urusvati knows about the problems involved in the transfusion
of blood. The physical properties of the blood are already being taken into account, but these are primitive considerations,
and two additional aspects should be mentioned. It will soon be learned that the psychic quality of blood is of particular
importance, and the time will come when its karmic condition will also be taken into account. Only by attention to all three
aspects will the right results be obtained. The ethnic characteristics of blood become less evident as the nations are mixed.
But a reading of the aura will reveal other, psychic differences. Karmic harmony between the donor and the recipient is necessary,
therefore the transfusion of blood of close relatives may not be the best. People will need to discern the karmic connections,
and in this task astrology and clairvoyance will be useful aids. It can be said that these methods take too long when an immediate
transfusion is needed. But, aside from emergency cases, there are those in which a day or two makes no decisive difference.
Even in the case of an operation that cannot be delayed there is time for analysis, and it is most important to be cautious
when determining the quality of blood.
Mixing supplies of whole blood is proof of ignorance.
From both the physical and the psychic point of view one should consider what incompatible elements have been indiscriminately
combined to produce a false cure instead of a real one. People fail to understand what they are preparing for future generations.
On the one hand they seem to care about the purity of future generations, but on the other thoughtlessly transfuse mixed blood.
We are sorry to see how indiscriminately people handle the most powerful substances. Psychologists must broaden their knowledge,
for it is they who can give the needed advice to humanity. They must teach people to think more subtly, so that they are able
to discern the limits that must not be crossed. The Thinker often said, "Blood is the precious bond between lives." SmdII

Urusvati knows that under certain conditions blood
transfusions are permissible. There can also be transfusions of psychic energy. It will take a long time for physicians to
discover techniques for accomplishing this, but it can happen spontaneously when the emanations of individuals come into contact.
In the future the process of transfusing psychic energy
will be a common event. The harmony of humanity can be augmented when the distribution of psychic energy has been mastered.
If blood can be given to others without harm, the same can be done with psychic energy. For transfusions of blood the physical
health of the organism and hereditary factors should be taken into account, but for the exchange of psychic energy more subtle
conditions must be considered—it is essential that the energies involved be compatible. SmdIII 533.
Blood transfusion is symbolic of two things: First,
that the blood is the life, and secondly, that there is but one Life permeating all forms, and therefore transferable under
right conditions. It is also a synthetic act of service. Ponder on this.
Your question gives me an opportunity to point out
that even an understanding of, and interest in, the ray types (as represented for instance in a group) may itself lead to
a subtle separative attitude. There is no necessity for any Son of God in incarnation upon the physical plane or in the three
worlds to "transfuse" his ray quality into his brother. These ray qualities are shared by all alike, and a brother's own soul
- differing in no way from another soul - will effect the needed transmutation or transfusion into the personality life.
One may facilitate the process by providing those conditions
of harmony and peace wherein a brother is faced with as few contrary attitudes as possible, and where the interplay of love
may produce an effective stimulation. But this is not transfusion. What exists in you exists in all, and the love quality
(above all other qualities) is the dominant characteristic of all rays. This question is not only one of the mysteries of
the occult sciences, but it is of far too vast a nature in its implications and too complicated a problem for me to deal with
in this place. EH 345.
As long as medical practitioners continue to disassociate
mental and psychic activities from nerve and blood diseases they will fail to reach to the secret cause of the trouble or
to make permanent cures. TT3 117. Hilarion.
Soul nature: The blood vessels and circulatory system
are the analogy to that all pervading soul which penetrates to all parts of the solar system, as the blood goes to all parts
of the body. EH 165.
Aquarius, we are told, governs the blood system and
its circulation. By means of the blood, the life force is distributed throughout the entire human body. It is, therefore,
symbolic of the task of the liberated Aquarian who dispenses spiritual life throughout the fourth kingdom in nature. EA 143.
It is the health unto life that is here to be considered,
and for this reason Gemini governs also the oxygenation of the blood, leading as a result to life activity and to the free
interplay and circulation of the spirit-soul aspect throughout all the complex organisms within the corporate form. Where
there is the free flow of the life force and no impediment to the circulation of the life fluid, via the blood, there will
consequently and normally be the presence of perfect health. It is the understanding of this law which produces in the initiate
the condition of controlled health and chosen immortality which is the stated objective of many schools of mental healing.
These are as you know (without exception), so purely mystical and unscientific that their achievements are practically nil.
They uphold the ideal but fail of the consummation.
Gemini also governs the nervous system and the fluid
reactions of the entire nervous organism. Hence you have, in this sign and its activity, the tendency to the eventual control,
of the two aspects of the soul to which I have made such constant reference in my books: the life aspect seated in the heart
and using the blood stream as its mode of interplay and of life-giving expression, and the consciousness aspect, seated in
the head and using the nervous system as its mode or condition or process of expression. EA 367.

As the mental images, produced by desire, are reflected

Just as the physical body transmutes and refines blood
to an evolutionary extent, so does the subtle body transmute its corresponding essence. FWIII. MM.
Aspiration toward the Higher World is the best recourse
against obsession. Thinking about the Higher World is the best proven antitoxin. Exalted thoughts not only influence the nerve
substance, but also purify the blood. Experiments with the composition of the blood in relation to the thinking of the patient
are highly instructive. AUM. MM.
The scum which rises to the top of a stagnant pool
is the result of Nature's effort to purify the contents of the pool. The eruption which appears on the skin of a human being
is the result of Nature's effort to purify the blood stream of that person. TT. Hilarion.
The blood is the vehicle of the life principle, and
the blood is entirely dependent upon the vehicle of the finer forces .
the air . for purification, as the finer forces must have a vehicle for transmission. Whatever the form
of disease or injury the body may suffer, recovery is dependent upon the degree of purity the blood is maintaining. Excessive
anger, hatred, and all their brood of devils also superheat the blood and
bring on conditions of body and mind similar to those produced by ill . ventilated apartments or by the maintenance of excessive
heat within the same. TT. Hilarion.
People inquire about the causes of infection, about
the properties of blood and sperm, but they completely forget that at the base of these lies psychic energy. It preserves
against infection; it is found in the properties of secretions. It is useless to take into consideration a mechanical summary
of collected information if attention is not given to the participation of psychic energy. People call a certain immunity
an influx of faith, but not without reason is a state of ecstasy called the radiance of the Fiery World. And such a
radiance protects man against infection. It purifies the secretions, it is as a shield. Therefore a state of joy and exaltation
is the best prophylaxis. Whoever knows rapture of spirit has already been cleansed against many dangers. Even ordinary physicians
know how changeable is the condition of the blood and secretions. But few connect this with the spiritual condition.
FWIII. MM.
Gemini also governs the nervous system and the fluid

As again you know, the life principle controls the
mechanism through the medium of the blood stream, for "the blood is the life," and uses the heart as its central organ; whilst
the consciousness principle uses the nervous system as its instrument, with the intricate extensions of the organ of sensitivity,
the spinal column. ENA 19.
There is a thread of energy, which we call the life

the medium of the blood, life-energy carries regenerating power and coordinating energy to all the physical organisms and
keeps the body "whole." ENA. DK.

Humanity is wiping out the distinction between tribes,
therefore one should speak with special caution about tribes. Even those tribes that are still distinct in appearance and
language are not basically and essentially isolated from each other. In conventional terms the subdivision is clear, but not
in the matter of blood. An admixture is taking place which is so characteristic during a change of race. It is more appropriate
to speak about humanity as a whole than to speak conventionally about the interlacing of branches. AUM. MM.
It has been the recognition of the cleansing power

The blood of the masses of humanity is even now tainted
by the sexual sins of earlier races. All humanity is suffering in different degrees from the effects of those sins in the
form of many malignant diseases. TT. Hilarion.
Disease is more often born of the stagnation of the
life currents by some condition of the organ attacked than of anything else, and many times concentrating upon the basic,
or etheric, substance of the organ will send the blood bounding through the interstices between cells, changing the vibrations
of the atoms and carrying off through natural channels the disease germs formerly congregated in the organ, thus relieving
pressure, decreasing heat vibrations, and permitting the pure Life Force to flow unrestrained through every atomic center
of the attacked organ. TT. Hilarion.
When also physicians learn the nature of the etheric
body, and the work of the spleen as a focal point for pranic emanations, then sound principles and methods will be introduced
which will do away with such diseases as tuberculosis, debility, malnutrition and the diseases of the blood and of the kidneys.
TCF. DK.
They demonstrate a sufficiency, an over-sufficiency
or a deficiency, according to the condition of the etheric vortices. Again, the process of control may be stated to be via
the nervous system; the close interlocking directorate of the nervous system, the brain and the blood stream (as a carrier
of the life principle) governs the activities of the man - conscious, subconscious, self-conscious, and finally, superconscious.

The "balancing of the glandular system" and the relation
of the glands to the blood stream, and also to character and predispositions of many kinds, are considerations of real value
and worth following. EH. DK.
You ask whether blood has a direct relation to the
elements. Indeed it has, but so far science has not found the subtle methods necessary for such researches. Therefore, we
must say that for the time being this definition is only approximate. It is correctly stated that there is one type of blood
that will blend with all other types. And of course this type is nearest to the element of fire. But since even the blood
of animals contains fiery particles (this being its main characteristic), when comparing the blood of various individuals
we should remember that, as far as it is possible to say, healthy blood will possess the most particles of fire. But it will
be possible to determine the relationship between the different blood groups and those of the elements only when the subtle
emanations are thoroughly studied and explored. LHRI.
Here the blood of the woman is a form of Agni (fire);
therefore no one should despise it. And the seed of the man is a form of ditya (sun) therefore no one should despise it.
Upanishads.
There are several interesting remarks about the blood
in the little book I sent you, The Occult Anatomy of Man, by Manly P. Hall. It proves scientifically that "the blood of every
man is individual. When crystallizing, it forms into geometric patterns which differ with each person...." As he puts it,
"The story of man's soul is written in his blood. The position he occupies in evolution, his hopes and his fears, all are
imprinted on the etheric forms which flow through his blood stream....so that by means of blood analysis a far surer system
could be evolved for crime detection than..." any of the now existing methods. It is interesting to note that the coefficient
of the blood of some nations is, according to a known tabulation, almost the same; whereas the comparison of the blood of
other nations sharply differ, for example, the blood of the Russians and of the English, according to the same tabulation.
LHRII.
The problem of the right relation of a particular center
to its related gland, permitting the free play of the force pouring through the center to the allied glandular correspondence,
thus conditioning its peculiar hormone and eventually conditioning the blood stream. If you grasp this sequence of contact,
you will understand more clearly the occult significance of the words in the Old Testament that "the blood is the life." It
is the vitality coming from the etheric body which works through into the blood stream, via the center which is responsive
to one of the seven peculiar types of force, and its allied gland. It will be apparent, therefore, that there is a close relation
between:
The etheric body as a transmitter of a vast aggregate of energies and forces.
The endocrine system whose various glands are in reality
the externalization or materialization of the centers, major and minor.
The heart, which is the center of life as the brain
is the center of consciousness. From the heart, the blood circulates and is controlled. Thus these three great systems are
related.
That of the nervous system (the sympathetic and the
cerebro-spinal) with a peculiar emphasis laid upon the vagus nerve with its effect upon the heart and consequently upon the
blood stream. EH. DK.
The love aspect shows itself through the heart, the
circulatory system and the nervous system. This is in many ways most important for you to understand, for it controls paramountly
the etheric body and its assimilation of prana or vitality. This prana works through both the blood and the nerves, for the
life force uses the blood stream and psychic force works through the nervous system. EH. DK.
Many primitive methods for recalling events to mind
may be observed. One may read how one ruler inclined his head as far as his knees, that the change in the blood circulation
might help to awaken his sleeping memory. It is known that anchorites beat their breasts in order to stimulate a reaction
in the Chalice. The evidence of many examples demonstrates that blood circulation is connected with psychic functions. The
more necessary it is to respect the science that examines the physical side of life, but at the same time reveals a new spiritual
bond inherent in all Existence. AUM. MM.
The formation of the cells
of the brain and spinal cord, in contradistinction to the formation
of the cells of all other organs tissues, produces some very peculiar
characteristics, which have passed almost unobserved, or at least unexplained
by the average investigator.
The cells of the Spinal cord are classified as branched
or stellate cells ; these minute branches have a very important office,
as they serve to conduct energy from one cell to the other, as do also curious little feelers or points of contact with
which each brain bristles when the blood is coursing naturally through the brain
cell in waking hours, and which are a source of never ending curiosity to
the interested observer. If the same observer has ever watched the
little feelers on the head of a snail as they disappear when brought in contact with an extraneous substance,
he will realize the similarity the action of the brain cells under excitation ;
for when the blood currents of the body become sluggish as in sleep, the points of the brain cells are indrawn. The
electric force or nervous energy generated by and in the blood currents,
operates through these points of contact by using them as conveyers of nervous energy from one
cell to another and as each cell is a miniature world in embryo, with all its powers dormant
save for the particular vibration manifesting in one Cycle, the receipt
and expenditure of the force by contact with the points of every
contiguous cell, awakens, or rather increases that particular vibration, and permits the higher forms of electric energy known
as mind, which are conveyed by and in these nerve fluids, to pass through and leave their impress within each cell.
It is a mistake to think of the cells as repositories of knowledge or power; they are but
reflectors and conveyers of different, forms of energy. In hours of sleep when these points of contact
are indrawn, our consciousness functions on inner planes where such
material means of conveying force are not operative, because no longer
required, as the energy which required their assistance to contact the physical plane then passes
freely from one interior cell to another in the same way as mundane
electricity passes from one pole to another as is manifested in the arc light, or by the contact of such wires as are used
to convey that form of energy. Temple Teachings. Hilarion.
By a comprehension of the laws of vitality - and in
this phrase are comprehended the laws governing prana, radiation and magnetism - will come the healing of the diseases in
the blood, of the arteries and veins, of certain nervous complaints, lack of vitality, senile decay, poor circulation and
similar ills. This too will result in the prolongation of life. The laws of electrical energy will also be better understood
in this connection. EH. DK.
Stop the circulation of the fluids in man, and stagnation,
absorption, calcification from old age, and death ensue. Isis. HPB.
Worlds are ablaze with the inner fires causing the
incessant changes around and in us eternally. Our outer eyes may not see these inner fires, but we see and realize the effects.
Our very bodies are burning continually and the pranic flames feed upon the elements composing us. As a result of this burning
process, ashes collect in the tissues of the body, which if not eliminated bring on old age. Find a means of preventing calcarious
(limy) deposits in the arterial system, and old age may be put off indefinitely, for it is the un-eliminated matter (ashes)
of the burnt up elements that bring on senile conditions by choking up the vital centers, and thus preventing the needful
drafts of oxygen, that even a furnace must have, in order to generate heat or force.
It is worth noting, that physiology teaches that
one of the important functions of the liver is to warm the blood of the body. It is a heat center ; and the blood, as it passes
from the liver, is warmer than at any other part. It is also interesting to know that surgery has proved that large sections
of the liver may be removed, and that the tissue is replaced by nature in a short time. TT. Hilarion.
As each center is related to one or other of the glands,
and these in their turn condition the blood stream, and also have a specific effect upon the organic structure within the
range of their vibratory influence (i.e. the stomach, close to the solar plexus, and the heart, close to the heart center,
etc.), you will see how it is possible that the major diseases from which a disciple can suffer (which are unique and confined
primarily to advanced humanity) will be the result of over-stimulation or the inflow of energy to one particular center, producing
excessive and localized trouble. EH. DK.
The heart and the blood are esoterically related, and
symbolically define the pulsating life of the soul which demonstrates upon the physical plane in the outgoing and the withdrawing
dual life of discipleship, each phase of which presents its own problems. Once a disciple has mastered the rhythm of his outer
and inner life, and has organized his reactions so that he extracts the utmost meaning from them but is not conditioned by
them, he then enters upon the relatively simple life of the initiate. Does that phrase astonish you? EH 126.
Of all these processes, the circulation of the blood
stream is the symbol, and the clue to the establishment of the world order lies hid in this symbology - free circulation of
all that is needed to all parts of the great framework of humanity. The blood is the life, and free interchange, free sharing,
free circulation of all that is required for right human living will characterize the world to be. Today these conditions
do not exist, the body of humanity is diseased and its internal life disrupted. Instead of free circulation between all parts
of the life aspect, there has been separation, blocked channels, congestion and stagnation. It has needed the terrific crisis
of the present to arouse humanity to its diseased condition, to the extent of the evil which is now discovered to be so great,
and the diseases of the "blood of humanity" (symbolically understood) so severe that only the most drastic measures - pain,
agony, despair and terror - can suffice to establish a cure. EH. DK.
The seventh ray, however, is more susceptible to the
problems, difficulties and diseases incident to the blood stream than are any of the other ray types. The reason is that this
is the ray which has to do with the expression and manifestation of life upon the physical plane and with the organization
of the relationship between spirit and matter into form. It is concerned therefore today, as it seeks to create the new order,
with free circulation and with a consequently intended freedom of humanity from the ills and problems of the past. EH 129.
The blood stream will then be kept also in perfect
condition. The clue to perfect physical health as it is expressed by a Master of the Wisdom can consequently be directly traced
to His full control of the centers, to their balanced state of energy reception and distribution, and to the effect which
they produce upon the entire ductless glandular system. By this means every area of the body is properly supplied with the
needed forces and is thus kept in perfect condition. EH. DK.
All the centers are thus brought into full expression;
all limitations are destroyed; every part of the body is vitalized and material perfection is produced, plus the full play
of the enlightened consciousness and also of the life aspect. The nervous system then comes under the complete control of the
spiritual man, and the blood stream is purified and becomes an unimpeded and satisfactory channel for the circulation of that
which the energized glands discharge. This is the esoteric significance of the Biblical words, "The blood is the life," and
also of the words "saved by the blood of Christ." It is not by the blood of a Christ dying two thousand years ago upon the
cross in Palestine that man is saved, but by the livingness of the blood of those in whom the Christ life and consciousness,
and the quality of the Christ, is perfectly demonstrating and expressed. EH. DK.
Two factors in connection with the centers and the
blood stream therefore warrant repetition and attention:
The blood stream is the agent of the glandular system as it,
in its turn, is an effect of the centers; the blood stream carries to every part of the body those essential elements of which
we know so little and which are responsible for making man psychologically what he is, and thus physically control his equipment.
The blood stream is also the life, and carries throughout
the organism an aspect of the energy stored up by the centers which is not directly related to the endocrine system; it penetrates,
by its radiation, into the blood stream and into all the veins, arteries and capillaries within the area controlled by the
center under consideration. This permeating energy of life itself, localized and qualified, can be either life-giving or death
bestowing. EH. DK.
Try to divide people according to the elements. Not
only according to the type of blood but also according to the character of the nerve substance will it be possible to observe
a direct reaction in accordance with the elements. FWI. MM.
The mystery of the blood still remains to be solved,
and will receive increasing attention as time goes on. The anemias, so prevalent today, are also due to excess of energy.
EH. DK.
Anemia is usually considered to be a blood deficiency,
but this factor is not of fundamental importance. It is but a result of an outflow of psychic energy. Thoughtless physicians
assume that it is possible to restore strength by drinking blood, but they forget that the inflow of strength will be one
of appearance only. It is the same as trying to illumine a large house with a single match. Taking in blood produces much
harm; this substance requires study and adaptation. That is why We do not in general advise such mixing of blood. Essentially,
it is unnecessary. Increase in psychic energy is attained by the simple expedients of which We have already spoken. But in
this let us see to it that there be not found in the vicinity someone who absorbs the energy. Bro. MM
If exposed to negatively charged ions a feeling of
exhilaration was experienced; that positive ions increased the blood pressure and produced general discomfort, and negative
ions lowered the pressure and brought a feeling of comfort and relaxation. EH. DK.
One can easily understand the depression of mood caused
by arrows flying above one's head from unknown directions. When such a saturation of space cannot be avoided, it is especially
important to guard one's health. The blood pressure increases, and the tension of the centers causes depression. AY.
MM.
Therefore, the care of the spirit-knowledge is expressed
not in exercises but by the improvement of the life conditions of the blood vessels which feed the nerves. The principal attention
must be paid to the blood pressure, because when the nerves absorb the emanations of the white blood corpuscles the opposite
polarity especially reacts. LMG II. MM.
So little attention has been
paid by the over-worked, over-burdened or ignorant and neglectful parents of children in recent ages,
that cultivation of the breath centres has been largely left to
chance. Cultivation of muscle appears to be far more necessary to the average man, while in truth over-cultivation of muscle,
without corresponding cultivation of the breath centres, is often injurious,
and frequently results in premature disease and death. In such instances
too great a pressure is placed on heart and lungs, and the
blood by which such pressure is induced is insufficiently oxygenated,
and therefore incapable of furnishing the necessary power of resistance to the organs mentioned above, and suddenly
the man or woman falls to the ground, as may a tree struck by lightning. TT. Hilarion.
In order to avoid the excessive blood pressure which
follows the opening of some centers, real Yogis spend this period in the mountains. Thus, it is not hard to imagine how dangerous
are all these forced exercises undertaken in big cities where the essential pure prana is so lacking. LHRI. MM.
The tension of creative centers is affirmed by spatial
Fires. Congestion of the blood can confirm the state of cosmic tension. Therefore it is so necessary to guard the centers.
Spatial Fires are raging. FWIII. MM.
People would rather burst their blood-vessels with
tension than manifest a new understanding. Comm. MM.
There can also be bleeding from the various openings
of the body. This should not be thought of as ordinary ruptures of blood vessels. The cause is the pressure of the psychic
energy struggling within the organism; this can affect any organ. Therefore, We strongly advise paying attention to all inexplicable
symptoms. SmdII. MM.
People try to test criminals by their blood pressure,
yet fail to see that a single suspicion in itself may excite the entire organism. It is better to commune with the Higher
World, where all the secret scrolls are revealed. AUM. MM.
Man should be told, "Do not weaken yourself; discontent,
doubt, self-pity, all consume the psychic energy." The manifestation of enshrouded toil what a frightful spectacle!
One should compare the fruits of luminous labor with those of a toil enshrouded by man when he has robbed himself.
I deem that science should also aid in this procedure. Apparatus already exist for the measuring of blood pressure.
AUM. MM.
The effect of breathing exercises is varied: There
is an oxygenating effect. The blood stream is purified and pressure is relieved. A symbolism underlies this: - for as the
blood is oxygenated so is the life of the man in the three worlds permeated by spiritual energy. TWM. DK.
It is useful to consider communion with the Higher
World to be as necessary as pure air. One need not sit in a fetid, poisonous atmosphere. Even the most ignorant people understand
that poison is harmful.
Likewise it may be observed that through spiritual development people free themselves
from the unpleasant odors which are natural to undeveloped organisms. Let us realize that the Higher World can transform even
the composition of the blood. Let us not think that such reactions are supernatural, on the contrary, they are most natural.
When a man returns from the pure outdoor air he emits a fragrant odor. Equally fragrant is the consciousness over-shadowed
by Grace. AUM.
Anatomists are beginning to find new ramifications
and new modifications in the human body. They are in error on many points, e.g., as to the spleen, which they call the manufactory

attention and the emphasis of the life force may be found). It can also be based upon the activity of the blood corpuscles.,
which serves to keep the blood stream in good condition. EH. DK.
The corpuscles of the blood, which float in a common
fluid. Isis. HPB.
The victim of exaggerated egotism, inordinate Desire,
jealousy, Hatred, Envy, or violent temper, is truly an object of pity. The activity of these lower elemental forces produce
great changes in the normal blood stream of a nineteenth century man or woman. The latter has outgrown the conditions which
existed in primitive man; conditions which furnished a natural habitat for the said elemental life forces. With the birth
of the soul these conditions were changed, and that which was natural to the primitive man became unnatural to the more highly
developed man. An increase of activity arouses the hitherto dormant elemental lives into action and the result is a drying
up of the watery element of the blood stream, the serum which largely predominates in the blood, and which is essential to
life.
These classes of the fiery lives prey on the white
corpuscles also, and as they are the natural scavengers of the blood as well as the protectors of the red corpuscles, their
loss leaves the latter to the mercy of the destroyers, the germs of disease. These have been lying latent in the stagnant
or coagulated blood which condition has resulted from the drying up of the watery element, the serum; or other germs which
are introduced into the body from some extraneous source. The evaporation or absorption of the serum by the action of the
revitalized elemental lives, robs every organ of the body of its normal supply of blood, or thickens the blood so that the
flow is interrupted, and little by little the whole body yields to various forms of disease. No amount of medical treatment
can overcome a condition so created. TT. Hilarion.
The worm of doubt is a very indicative symbol. Actually
the worm is similar to a bacillus which decomposes psychic energy and influences even the composition of the blood.

Cancer can be treated by psychic energy, since lack
of psychic energy in the blood generates the disease. Hier. MM.
It is without doubt that a stay in the mountains reacts
favorably upon people ill with cancer, perhaps owing to the fact that heights affect the blood. Blood changes on heights,
becoming more abundant in red corpuscles and thicker. LHRII.
During communion with the Higher World it is actually
possible to observe that bent or crossed legs have a deep significance. Let physicians examine what influence such a position
of the extremities has upon the blood circulation and the nerve centers. Let them pay attention also to the respiratory channels.
Whoever has understood the lubrication of the passages of the respiratory organs has already discerned the significance of
these conduits. AUM. MM.
The stream of life-energy finds its way to the heart,
the physical heart, and there (via the physical permanent atom) it energizes coherently the entire physical body, using the
blood stream as its major agency and channel of contact and communication between this central powerhouse of life and the
periphery. EH. DK.
If we are to reach farther back than the combination
of the spermatozoon of the male and the ovum of the female for the beginnings of physical life, we must turn our minds to
the great ocean of life which, from its material aspect, is the serum–the watery substance of the blood, "the waters
of crystallization," the universal binding force–that vehicle of the creative fire which draws together and binds all
living beings into one great Universal Entity. Every drop of serum contains in essence the ideal form, the outline of every
created or creatable thing in manifestation. As every grain of matter, whatever its nature, contains this serum or water,
the spermatozoon and ovum have within themselves the outline of the form of the creature to be evolved by their combination.
TT. Hilarion.
Where hatreds and deep dislike are present in the consciousness,
or where the man lives in a constant state of irritation against a person or a group, or again where the sense of being abused
is present, there is a real possibility that the blood stream will be affected; the man then will be susceptible to constant
infections, to boils, to running sores and to the various blood conditions which are definitely septic in nature. EH.
DK.
The blood stream becomes affected in a peculiarly occult
manner. The "blood is the life," we are told; it is interiorly changed as a result of the two previous stages, but primarily
as the result of an activity hitherto undiscovered by modern science, for which the glandular system is responsible. The glands,
in response to the call of death, inject into the blood stream a substance which in turn affects the heart. There the life
thread is anchored, and this substance in the blood is regarded as "death-dealing" and is one of the basic causes of coma
and of loss of consciousness. EH. DK.
Under this category would come the majority of the
diseases of disciples and mystics, largely of a nervous nature and often affecting the heart or the blood stream. They will,
in the majority of cases, be confined to the area above the diaphragm, and therefore to those areas conditioned by the head,
the throat and the heart centers. EH. DK.
Forget not, the truth remains eternally right that
the "blood is the life" - even if as yet inexplicable in its implications from the angle of the esotericist as well as from
the angle of medical science. Healers have to learn to work with the life principle, and not with some vague energy
which is set in motion by the power of thought or by the potency of love, as is the case presented today by the various healing
systems of the world which mankind has evolved. EH. DK.
The expansion of the blood vessels is characteristic
of the growth of consciousness, and this process must be protected by physical means from the effect of the sun's pressure
upon the solar plexus.
Let us not forget how the priestesses of antiquity were shielded from the sun.
AY. MM.
The blood is an aspect of energy, as is the sap in
the vegetable kingdom. The sympathetic nervous system, that marvelous apparatus of sensation, is closely related to the emotional
or astral body. The contact is made via the solar plexus, just as the vitality, governing the quality of the blood stream,
makes its contact via the heart. In the heart is the center of physical plane existence. TWM. DK.
Valerian remains in the category of "life-givers" and
its significance is equivalent to the significance of the blood in the body. Occultly, valerian is considered as the blood
of the vegetable kingdom. LHRI. MM.
An outflow of psychic energy is not at all susceptible
to treatment by blood transfusion, but by valerian, musk, and milk with bicarbonate of soda. Bro. MM.
Valerian, on the other hand, kindles the fires.

Water is the blood of the Earth. SD. HPB.
Occult teaching corroborates the popular tradition
which asserts the existence of a fountain of life in the bowels of the earth and in the North Pole. It is the blood of the
earth, the electromagnetic current, which circulates through all the arteries; and which is said to be found stored in the
"navel" of the earth. SD. HPB.
Cell life. Blood stream. Heart center. Thymus gland.
Cell life. Blood stream. Heart center. Heart. TWM. DK.
Living is energy, desire in form, coherence and adhesion
to an idea and of this the heart and the blood are the exoteric symbols. TWM. DK.
Vyana is the term applied to the sum total of pranic
energy as it is distributed evenly throughout the entire body. Its instruments are the thousands of nadis or nerves found
in the body, and it has a peculiar definite connection with the blood channels, the veins and arteries." TWM.

"Out of the heart are the issues of life"; from it
the current of the life blood circulates; from its development in the Atlantean race and the consequent coordination and growth
of the astral or emotional body, the heart center has become the most important in the body. LOS. DK.
This will work out literally and not simply metaphorically,
for when the life currents are directed by the soul upon the throne, through the nerves and the blood channels, then only
the purest atoms will be built into the body and the result will be a shining forth of light through the entire man.
LOS. DK.
Curiously enough, this sixth ray Lord has always been
a loved enigma to His six Brethren. This comes out in the questions which They addressed to Him on one occasion when They
met "under the eye of the Lord" to interchange Their plans for united, divine, harmonious action. They asked these questions
in a spirit of heavenly joy and love, but with the intent to throw some light upon the somewhat obscure quality of Their loved
Brother.
Why is desire red? Why red as blood? Tell us, Oh Son
of God, why thy way is red with blood? Quality - power to kill out desire. EPI. DK.
Mars is closely related to sex, which is an aspect
of the pairs of opposites, and its effect is also definitely to vitalize the blood stream; it vitalizes, purifies and stimulates
all aspects and organisms in the body, via the blood stream. EA. DK.
The color assigned to Mars is, as you know, red and
this is a correspondence to the color of the blood stream and hence also the association of Mars with passion, with anger
and a sense of general opposition. The sense of duality is exceedingly powerful. Hence also the necessity for the entire life
of man (for the blood is the life in this sense) to be swung into the conflict, leaving no side of human nature uninvolved.
EA. DK.
The secret of release for the animal nature is hidden
in the "watery nature;" this is the blood aspect, and in the shedding of the blood, esoterically understood, lies the clue
to the liberation of the animal kingdom. Hence certain initiatory processes are working out on a large scale in the shedding
of blood through the slaughter of the animal form of the human being in the Great War, for instance. In the war the blood
of thousands was poured out upon the soil, and from the standpoint of living purpose, certain esoteric results have been achieved.
This fact is a difficult one for man to understand, for his awareness is as yet primarily that of the form and not of the
quality of the life. It is difficult for men to comprehend the divine purpose working out behind the evils of animal slaughter
and the shedding of blood down the ages, prehuman and human. But through the "pouring out of that water which is of the color
red" there is eventuating a liberation which will initiate the life of that kingdom into new states of consciousness and of
awareness.
The whole problem of slaughter, whether in the animal
or the human kingdom, originated in events which occurred during the original "war in heaven," when Michael and his angels
were cast down and our planetary system came into being. Until a man's consciousness is such that he can, through an inner
mechanism as yet unevolved in the majority, respond to the planetary consciousness and "enter into the secrets of the Ancient
of Days," the problem of pain, of bloodshed, of war and of suffering must remain an inscrutable mystery. It will be solved
- and this is the keynote of most importance - only when man has himself changed the initiating process for the animals from
that of bloodshed to that of domesticity and of mutual love. EPI. DK.
He will learn that he shares it with all that exists,
and that therefore a true "blood Brotherhood" is everywhere to be found. ENA. DK.
The Lord of the Moon chain and the Lord of our present
animal kingdom are "blood brothers" and in their relationship and the esoteric interference of the "Man of Men" (the human
family personified) is hidden the mystery of present animal karma and the slaughter of animal forms, the terror of wild beasts
and the work of vivisectionists. TCF. DK.
All this is revealed to esotericists in the symbology
of the circulatory system in man. As the blood system, with its two types of channels (arteries and veins) and its two types
of builders (the red and the white corpuscles), is studied from the occult standpoint, much will be ascertained of a revolutionary
nature. The laws of the path of outgoing, and of the path of return, with the two groups of deva lives therein concerned,
will be apprehended by man. A further hint may here be given. In the physical body of man in connection with the circulatory
system, we find, in the three factors - the heart, the arteries, and the veins - the clue to the three types of devas, and
also to the systemic triangle which they represent, and further, to the three modes of divine expression. There is a planetary
as well as a systemic circulation, and it is carried on through the medium of deva substance everywhere, macrocosmically as
well as microcosmically. TCF. DK.
But whether the energy be of Spirit, Soul or Body;
Mineral, Plant or Animal life, all forms of Electricity are generated by means of the gases or their correspondents, known as hydrogen,
oxygen, nitrogen and carbon. Despite the claims of Medical Science to the contrary, oxygen, as such, does not enter
into the blood of the animal creation. It is one of the great creative fires, and acts upon the different
organs of the body, which organs serve as generators for the production of Electricity, and it is the
latter force instead of oxygen which passes into the blood and builds or destroys as nature demands. TT.
Hilarion.
One by one the red corpuscles of the blood Stream are
broken up by some one of the interior fires operative in all animal bodies. The waste
fragments are consumed by the leucocytes, the white corpuscle of spleen, liver, cell walls, etc. The nucleoli of
each red corpuscle receive from the first mentioned interior fire . a form of electricity a new impulse to a higher,
rate of vibration than that previously manifested, which carries each in rotation from one organ of the body to another,
until it reaches the brain and spinal cord, where it receive another impulse to a still higher rate of vibration, which carries
it out of the realm of physical matter into the finer, ethereal type of astral matter. On the astral
Plane the same nucleoli pass in turn through every grade of astral matter, being carried from
organ to organ of astral bodies, by the action of finer or more spiritual fires.
Such substance-matter finally becomes a part of the practically indestructible spiritual body. TT.
Hilarion.
All such processes are carried on by fire or heat,
and are analogous to the Processes by which the blood stream of a physical body is transmuted first into astral, then
into spiritual matter, or vice versa. TT Hilarion.
Aspiration for spiritual development, directed
by will, to the Infinite, or Father-Mother-Son, would call out from the Infinite that
which to the spiritual eye would appear to be a stream of light; to all appearances that Stream would seem to issue
from a hole in the atmosphere, as sunlight might issue through a hole in a black wall. The force of that
light would contact and coalesce with the mind or will force of the thought which prompted the aspiration; a
combination would be effected that would impart a still more rapid rate of vibration to the
nucleus of every blood corpuscle in the body of such aspirant, changing its character to a
very marked degree. This is the modus operandi of the transmuting processes brought about by concentration and meditation,
such as is advised by teachers of the sacred science. The student of physiology knows that the blood corpuscles
are continually breaking up, and that the fragments are taken up by the white corpuscles, but he does not
know what occurs to he nucleus in those transitional stages. He is not able to see how the life principle
of the nucleus is raised to higher states of substance-matter, and how it passes from death
to life, and from life to death, in continuous incarnation and excarnation.
The proud in spirit object to having the bodies they
have lavished so much care and thought upon classed as animals. They will repudiate the statement that they have no human bodies as
yet, that such are only in process of building. Age upon age, life after life, must yield its quota of substance for that
human body, substance which has been refined by fire from the streams of blood which have passed through all the long line
of animal bodies. Every thought, every aspiration, leaves an impress upon the nucleoli of the
cells of the physical body. In fact, we may consciously create our own human bodies. TT 75. Hilarion.
While the blood stream of
a body is the conveyor of the life principle, as that stream takes its way through arteries, veins,
capillaries, etc., to every minutest portion of the body, it is also a sewerage system
of wonderful ingenuity, and one to which the authorities of large cities might well look for information.
The blood flows out from the left ventricle of the heart, a pure, life
giving stream, and returns from its journey through the body, laden with refuse matter, to the
lungs .the way-stations. where it comes into contact with the life energized oxygen,
breathed into the lungs, and by means of a process of combustion the carbonic acid gas which has been generated
by such contact is liberated. The blood is thus cleansed or purified as by fire, and is ready to
continue its journey back to its starting-point. As the necessary oxygen is one of the gases contained in the air breathed
into the lungs the necessity for, and effect of correct breathing, is evident. And, as everything
in manifestation has its correspondence, its pattern or simulacrum, in every other plane or state
of matter, the whole process of breathing, the air, the organs used, and the blood stream itself, have
also their correspondences.
Within the molecules of air, exists an etheric energy,
which is in turn supplied to the astral body of man at the same time and by similar methods to those used
in supplying oxygen to the blood, and by bringing into action the power of will,
the process of transmuting the astral substance into a still higher state of matter, and thus liberating the spirit,
may be accomplished, when man has learned that great secret. TT. Hilarion.
Microorganisms that are injurious to the tissues of
the body secrete and expel still more minute forms of life which are just as injurious to the nervous fluids as the former
are to the tissues, and these in turn secrete and expel yet finer forms
of psycho-organisms which affect the air we breathe, and upon
entering the lungs, work changes in the blood stream which produce some of the most obscure and dangerous diseases that
human beings are subject to. Some incurable forms of insanity are the result of the action of those lesser lives upon the
brain through the blood. TT. Hilarion.
K ma is life, it is the essence of the blood. When
this leaves the blood the latter congeals. Pr na is universal on this plane; it is in us the vital principle, Pr nic, rather
than Pran. SDIII. HPB/AB.
The K ma R pa eventually breaks up and goes into animals.
All red-blooded animals come from man. The cold-blooded are from the matter of the past. The blood is the K ma R pa. The white
corpuscles are the scavengers, “devourers”; they are oozed out of the Astral through the spleen, and are of the
same essence as the Astral. They are the seat-born of the Chh y . K ma is everywhere in the body. The red cells are drops
of electrical fluid, the perspiration of all the organs oozed out from every cell. They are the progeny of the Fohatic Principle.

The most important interpretation demonstrates the
fact that blood in some state is the first form of sentient life on the physical plane.
It is held in suspension, as it were, latent, in every molecule of every cell which nature uses in building
form and', substance. You often hear the expression-"you cannot draw blood from a stone." But you could
get blood from a stone if you knew how to produce that phenomenon,
as blood is latent, if not in evidence, as I have said before, in all things. Temple
Teachings. Hilarion.
It is not blood that can be squeezed out of a stone,
but a spark of Fohat, which lives in and animates everything in Nature. FW3. MM.
Everything in the solar system is in a state of flux,
as is everything in the universe, and the vital energy circulates, as the blood or the nervous energy of the body circulates,
throughout the entire system. This is the basis of the occult fact that all in nature, for instance, will be, is, or has been,
through the human kingdom. TCF. DK.
The Agnisuryans are the builders on the sixth subplane
of the cosmic physical plane, our systemic astral plane. They represent, as I have before hinted, the sympathetic nervous
system in the logoic physical body, just as their brothers of the seventh vibration represent the sumtotal of the circulatory
or blood system. A hint to the student who is interested in the physiological key lies in the relationship between the two
great groups of devas who build and construct the most objective portion of logoic manifestation, and the two groups of corpuscles
which in their mutual interaction hold the body in health; there is an analogy also in the relationship between the devas
of the astral plane, and the motor and sensory nerves of the physical body. I will not enlarge upon this angle of vision.
